National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are work based awards in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that are achieved through assessment and training.
To achieve an NVQ, candidates must prove that they have the ability (competence) to carry out their job to the required standard. The QCF NVQ Management and Leadership qualifications are made up of over 70 new units of assessment based on the six areas of the 2008 Management and Leadership National Occupational Standards. These units are written in a new and improved QCF template, which also lists the required skills, knowledge, understanding and behaviours.
ILM NVQs are assessed using evidence from the workplace. This could include observation, professional discussion, questioning/interviews/witness testimony, physical products of work (such as plans, reports, correspondence etc) or other methods allowed within the QCF. Please note simulation is not allowed.
